What are some things brides should consider when doing their first hair/makeup trial?
Congratulations on your engagement! You’ve probably changed your Facebook status, shown all your friends and family your ring and perhaps even signed up for Pinterest to start scouring the site for wedding ideas. As a day spa and salon we’ve worked with countless brides to complete their look on their wedding day, and one of the first steps in that process is your hair and makeup trial. There are a few things to think about as you’re going for your first hair and/or makeup trial. Use the handy tips below to guide your appointment:
- What will the weather be? You won’t necessarily know if your wedding day will be greeted with beautiful sunshine but you should have a pretty good idea of temperature. Keep that in mind for your trial because you may not want your hair all down if you’re getting married outdoors in July and it will be 90 degrees.
- Will there be flowers in your hair? What about a veil or head piece? If you have the actual embellishments you’ll be wearing on the big day, it’s always helpful to bring them along provided they’re not too cumbersome, in other words it’d be best to leave your cathedral length veil tucked away at home!.
- Have an idea of what you like and don’t like. Our stylists are great at what they do but they need your input to ensure you love your look. If you have photos that you’ve found and love bring them along.
- Bring a camera. Styles change and a photos are a great reference for you to look back at the style you’ve chosen. Photos will also come in handy if you haven’t decided whether or not you’ll be wearing a certain pair of earrings or a headpiece, it’s easy to see whether or not you’ll be changing your look from the first trial to your wedding day.
